About Our Sensory Development Classes For Babies

If you’re looking for more information about our baby development classes, you’re in the right place. Our Wriggle Monsters sensory classes run in Batley, Cleckheaton, Mirfied, and Ossett.

At Wriggle Monsters, we stimulate your baby’s curiosity of the world around them through sensory play activities, and we have a new theme every week packed with multi-sensory experiences. We have over 30 themes – such as Wild West, Pirate Party, Circus, Space, and Sports – and we also run seasonal favourites like Valentines, Easter, Mother’s Day, Christmas, and many more.

We love capturing precious memories of you and your baby. That’s why we have professional photo backdrops and props in every class where you can take lots and lots of pictures that you can treasure forever.

Sensory Classes for Babies Designed to Stimulate and Engage

So, what can you expect in our sensory classes?

Classes are teacher-led, and you’ll be taken on a structured sensory journey for a whole hour. During our sensory play groups, you’ll experience light shows, boogies, puppet shows, music and movement, tummy time play, baby yoga, sign language, baby massage, sensory scent exploration, parachute games, bubble shows, arts and crafts, explorations of textures, and so much more!

So, remember, we’re a teacher-led class, not a parent-led baby group. We’ll never have you sitting around in an awkward silence, waiting for something to happen. Also, we don’t do awkward moments. No round robins, and going round in a circle, taking a moment to introduce ourselves. That’s anxiety-inducing for some. We’d never want you to feel as though you’re back at work. Not in a million years.

Relaxed Atmosphere In Every Session

A Wriggle Monsters class is a safe space for you to come and relax. That’s why thousands of customers have chosen to spend their maternity and paternity leave with us.

We’ve worked hard to build an environment where you can unwind, be free from pressure, and create a magical place where you can make lots of memories. And while development is important, having fun is our primary focus. Because our babies and young children grow up so fast, don’t they? And what do we have but our memories to look back on?

Friendly Community For Parent and Baby

Life as a new parent is hard, and it seems that we’re judged to an insanely high standard more than ever these days (owing to the influence of social media). We’re expected to know everything from establishing routines to baby first aid as soon as our little one exits the womb! And it can take its toll on our wellbeing.

That’s why our sensory classes for newborn babies and beyond have a relaxed atmosphere. They’re a place to unwind and have fun. A place where you can enjoy play and bond in a meaningful way with your baby. A place where you can forget about the pressure of babies hitting developmental milestones (because that will happen on its own along the way, anyway!).

If you’re still on the fence, wondering if Wriggle Monsters is the right sensory class for your baby, why not come and see for yourself? Come be a part of the sensory revolution.

Supporting Your Local Independent Sensory Baby Classes – Why We’re Not a Franchise

Wriggle Monsters is based in Batley, my hometown, with classes running in surrounding areas (Cleckheaton, Mirfield, and Ossett).

Lots of people think we’re a franchise, but actually, we’re not. We’re a local independent business. And because we’re local, and not a franchise, we don’t pay huge franchise fees to a parent company, which means I can pass on savings to you and invest in better equipment so you get access to the best schemes of play and best content at the best prices.

Block Booking for Our Sensory Play Classes

Our baby classes generally run in 6 weeks blocks, and we have a different theme each week. We do have a high volume of customers booking, so we have a priority booking system in place for existing customers – meaning that once you’re in, you’ll get early access to book the next course before tickets go live for general sale.

So, if you’re a new customer, check out our availability on our booking page. If classes are full, please contact Maisie (using the contact form below) to be added to the waiting list and confirm your preferred day, time, and location.

We’ll do our absolute best to get you in at a suitable time for you. But please don’t delay, and book today to avoid disappointment.

The Importance of Sensory Development Activities in Baby’s First Year

Sensory development activities are important in a baby's first year because they help to stimulate and promote the growth of your baby's senses, which are the building blocks of their cognitive and physical development.

During the first year, your baby's brain is rapidly developing, and their senses are the primary means through which they learn about the world around them. Sensory development activities build nerve connections in your baby’s brain and provide a variety of experiences that help to stimulate their senses, such as touch, taste, smell, sight, and hearing.

Joining a Wriggle Monsters sensory class will help your baby develop important cognitive and physical skills, such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and crucial language and communication skills.

In addition to the immediate benefits, engaging in sensory development activities during the first year can also have long-term benefits when it comes to social and emotional development.

Attending sensory development classes is a great way to support your baby as they lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth – from nursery to preschool and beyond.

Book On To A Sensory Development Class Near You

Looking for a sensory group near me? If you haven’t already, we’d love it if you and your baby could join us in one of our sensory sessions. Introvert or extrovert, you can be as involved as you want to be. One thing we always stress is that we parents never get this time back.

When growing up, you’ve probably heard doting grandparents, aunties, and uncles say, “Oh, they grow up so fast.” And that’s so true. You blink and suddenly they’re no longer a newborn baby.

We have to cherish their early years. It’s why we’ve spent a small fortune on backdrops and props for every theme so you can capture lots of precious memories throughout your sensory journey with us. Hope to see you and your baby soon!

What’s a Sensory Baby Class Like?

Here’s what a few of our customers had to say:

My Baby Loves Every Activity!

“We love Wriggle Monsters sensory play classes! We’ve been going since my daughter was eight weeks old, and we loved every session. My daughter has a smile throughout the session and enjoys the different songs and every activity!

“Maisie (the class leader) is fantastic. She’s so welcoming and friendly, and each week is a new and exciting theme. The different resources she uses are incredible! When going, you feel part of the Wriggle Monster family. Amazing value for money. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!”

Lucy Greenfield

A Chance for Mums To Bond With Babies

“What can I say except wow! As a first-time mum, I was so anxious and nervous about taking my newborn baby to sensory classes, but once I got there, I soon realised everyone else has felt the same way: nervous about getting judged and anxious about not getting things right. Wriggle Monsters baby classes are a great way for you to bond with your little ones.

“There’s lots to do, from free play, music, and teacher-led activities, and it’s a chance for us mums to bond with our babies! Each week, there’s a different theme, with different activities to do. I can’t recommend these development classes enough. Maisie puts everyone at ease, and she also makes time to talk to everyone in the group.”

Chloe Amelia

My Little One Absolutely Loves This Class!

“Absolutely brilliant class for babies. I’ve got two older children, and admittedly, I have never done anything like this in the past. Partly because I thought it would be a fad, and also, I didn’t think my baby would get much from it. HOW WRONG I WAS!

“My little one absolutely loves these sensory classes. The themes and structure are really thoughtful and fun, and Maisie just has such an energy about her. I’m definitely a convert! I’m already trying to get my friend to sign up too. Can’t recommend it highly enough!”

Stephanie Ewart

A Chance for Mums To Bond With Babies

I couldn’t recommend Wriggle Monsters anymore if I tried! Maisie is absolutely wonderful and has thought of everything to make it the best experience for babies and their parents/caregivers. It’s such a fun experience from start to finish and a really welcoming environment.

“I have pictures of my baby that I’ll treasure for a lifetime because of Maisie’s amazing themes each week. There is something for everyone, and I’m so grateful for all the hard work she puts in to give us the best time! The best baby class you could ask for.”

Anna Reeve

A Variety of Sensory Activities To Stimulate Baby

Been loving Wriggle Monsters! Maisie goes above and beyond each week with the new themes and even uses different coloured ball pool balls each week. You can tell Maisie puts lots of energy and planning into the different sessions.

“There’s a variety of sensory activities, toys, messy play, free play, dancing, and so many more activities! It helps you meet different mums too. You’ll definitely find someone with something in common.”
